sicily experience of a lifetime!!
This was not just a great tour, it was one of the best EXPERIENCES i have ever had.

We have travelled extensively over the years, and recently began taking small group tours. by far, this was the best experience we have had on a group tour. from the very beginning, the group leader, spartaco, (not to be confused with a tour guide) had all 13 of us engaging with one another en route to becoming travelling friends. in the course of a week, we cooked, fished, swam, sang, ate, harvested salt, made cheese, and in general "experienced" sicily. we were travelers, not tourists. while we saw a few churches and attractions, we were definitely not in sicily to sightsee..we were there to experience the sicilian life. much of the time was spent on favignana, an island off the coast of sicily where we spent time with ivan and his many fiends and relatives, some of whom we would meet around town or who just showed up at dinner and joined in with us. making sausages, pasta, cheese and whole dinners with esteemed members of the community, not just trained chefs, also separated this tour from the others. as you can tell, this was not just a great tour, it was one of the best EXPERIENCES i have ever had. great concept, great execution, great staff. we will be taking another experience with culture/discovery in the future.
