The Itinerary

Truly Unique, Truly CDV

While many luxury cruises along the Dalmatian coast may sound enticing, most follow the same well-worn paths, offering little more than a polished version of the typical tourist junket. At CDV, we do things differently. We’ve designed a private yacht itinerary that not only touches on a few bucket-list destinations but truly shines by uncovering the hidden gems that mass tourism overlooks.

The Itinerary

Our unforgettable journey begins the moment you touch down in Dubrovnik, where your dedicated host will greet you at the airport for a smooth group transfer to the city’s bustling port. Awaiting your arrival is our stunning private yacht, docked like a hidden gem along the crystal-blue Adriatic waters.

Once aboard, you’ll be welcomed with a glass of exquisite local wine and a spread of regional delicacies as we gather for a relaxed orientation on our beautiful yacht. Feel the refreshing sea breeze while you settle in and take in the first of many breathtaking views.

After freshening up, you’ll be introduced to our friend and local guide, Stjepo, who will lead us on an intimate, casual stroll through Dubrovnik’s enchanting old town. As we wander the charming streets within the ancient city walls, Stjepo—who grew up here—will share fascinating stories about life in Dubrovnik, from childhood memories to the city’s rich traditions. You’ll hear tales from his time spent working abroad with Mislav, along with more personal reflections, including moving accounts of his father’s experiences during the war.

While Stjepo will certainly highlight the city’s famous landmarks, he’ll also take us off the beaten path to discover hidden corners of Dubrovnik known only to locals. Away from the tourist crowds, we’ll explore the city’s lesser-known gems, learning about its unique customs, old-world crafts, and the traditions still cherished by the people who call this stunning city home.

As the sun sets on your first day, we’ll return to our yacht for a delightful dinner, with Stjepo joining us for the evening. Enjoy the delicious flavors of the region as you relax on deck, savoring the company and the view, as the stars begin to twinkle over the Dalmatian coast. This evening, we will have one of our “As the Sun Sets” events on the yacht for fun, entertainment, and enjoyment.

We will  start our day with a leisurely breakfast on the deck, soaking in the morning light as the sea laps gently against the yacht. By 9:30 AM, we’ll head back into town where Stjepo will join us once again, ready to show us even more of Dubrovnik’s secrets.

Our first stop is Buža, a quirky, cliffside bar where we’ll sit on beer crates, sipping drinks while marveling at the incredible views of the Adriatic Sea. From there, we’ll wander over to Porporela, a vibrant local hangout known for its small beach and relaxed atmosphere. Whether you are up for a swim, a quick game of water polo with the locals, or simply want to soak up the sun, it’s the perfect spot to immerse yourself in Dubrovnik’s lively spirit. We’ll even visit the local Pazar market to pick up fresh goods, setting the stage for our upcoming winery adventure in Pelješac.

Later, we’ll take the scenic cable car ride up to Srđ Hill, the mountain that played a pivotal role during the Croatian Homeland War. As we ascend, you’ll be treated to stunning views of Dubrovnik and its dramatic coastline. At the top, we’ll explore the War Memorial Museum inside an ancient fortress that sheltered Croatian soldiers during the war. This powerful visit will offer an intimate glimpse into Dubrovnik’s past, especially with personal stories from Nikša, Mislav’s father, who fought bravely during the siege.

After reflecting on the morning’s history, we’ll enjoy lunch at a charming restaurant perched atop Srđ Hill. With panoramic views of Dubrovnik’s red rooftops below and the endless blue Adriatic beyond, this will be a lunch to remember, blending local flavors with a sense of awe and appreciation for the city’s resilience.

Following lunch, you’ll have some free time to either shop, explore, or simply unwind back at the yacht, savoring a little downtime before the evening’s festivities.

As the day comes to a close, we’ll gather for dinner onboard the yacht, savoring a delicious meal as we set sail for Pelješac

This evening, we will have one of our “As the Sun Sets” events on the yacht for fun, entertainment, and enjoyment.

We will begin our day with a leisurely breakfast on the deck before heading out to explore the enchanting town of Korčula by 9:30 AM. Known for its stunning medieval architecture and as the birthplace of the legendary Marco Polo, Korčula will captivate us with its narrow cobblestone streets, charming squares, and rich cultural heritage. As we wander through this Adriatic gem, we’ll explore historical landmarks and immerse ourselves in the town’s unique character.

After taking in the sights, we’ll relax at a seaside café, enjoying a coffee as we soak in the peaceful views of the crystal-clear waters. If the mood strikes, a refreshing dip in one of Korčula’s hidden bays may be just what we need before continuing our journey.

A short 15-minute ferry ride will then bring us to Orebić, a charming town on the Pelješac Peninsula, renowned for its winemaking and coastal beauty. The scenic ride will offer us picturesque views of the coastline, setting the tone for the next leg of our adventure.

Our private transfer will take us south to Mali Ston, a region celebrated for Europe’s oldest defensive walls, centuries-old salt production, and its world-renowned oysters. Here, we’ll meet Tomo, whose family has been farming oysters for generations. Thanks to a close personal connection, we’ve arranged a truly intimate and special experience.

Instead of dining at his family’s restaurant, Tomo will personally host us aboard his boat as we visit his oyster farm. We’ll learn firsthand how to clean and prepare fresh oysters while listening to stories passed down through generations. Then, we’ll savor these delicacies right from the sea.

Afterward, we’ll head to Tomo’s nearby house, where we’ll join together to prepare a delicious lunch using the freshest local ingredients. This hands-on culinary adventure, surrounded by the warmth of local hospitality, will give us a true taste of Ston Bay’s traditions and flavors.

After lunch, we will continue our journey with a visit to Winery Andelic for a private tasting of the region’s finest wines. As we sip and enjoy, we’ll hear the stories of the vineyard’s history and its deep connection to the land.

As the evening approaches, we’ll return to our yacht for dinner, setting sail as the sun begins to set. This evening, we will have one of our “As the Sun Sets” events on the yacht for fun, entertainment, and enjoyment, closing out a day filled with unique experiences, local flavor, and cherished memories.

We’ll begin our day with a leisurely breakfast on the deck before heading out at 9:30 AM. Our private driver will take us to Blato, a charming town nestled in the heart of Korčula, where we’ll meet Petar and Nina, two of my closest friends. Together, they run a family restaurant and will host us for a day filled with authentic local experiences.

Petar will first take us to explore his family’s fields and vineyards, where we’ll taste some of his homegrown wine while getting a true feel for the land and its rich heritage. From there, we’ll make our way to their family restaurant in Prigradica, a small village with breathtaking views of the sea and the nearby island of Hvar. The restaurant, perched by the beach with a spacious terrace, is run by the entire family—Petar, Nina, and their parents, all of whom will greet us with warm hospitality.

The day will unfold in a relaxed rhythm as we enjoy fresh, local food and wine. If time allows, we might even head out for a bit of fishing and meet Petar’s grandfather, who still makes wine using traditional methods. There will be plenty of opportunities to take a swim in the crystal-clear waters just steps from the restaurant, offering the perfect balance of leisure and local culture by the Adriatic.

In the early evening, we’ll return to Vela Luka, a picturesque coastal town on the western side of Korčula. Here, everyone will have free time to explore at their own pace. Vela Luka is known not only for its serene bays and relaxed atmosphere but also as the hometown of the legendary Croatian singer, Oliver Dragojević.

Oliver’s soulful music, which beautifully captures the essence of the Dalmatian coast, echoes throughout the town. As we stroll along the waterfront or relax in a local café, we’ll feel his presence, hear his timeless songs, and experience the deep connection the locals still have to his legacy. It’s the perfect way to wind down, soaking in the charm and nostalgia of this lovely town.

We will then return to the yacht for dinner as the evening gently draws to a close. This evening, we will have one of our “As the Sun Sets” events on the yacht for fun, entertainment, and enjoyment, making the perfect end to a serene day filled with authentic local culture, great company, and the magic of the Dalmatian coast.

After breakfast on the deck, we’ll dock in Ubli, where our private minibus will take us to the charming town of Lastovo. Along the way, we’ll stop at one of the largest abandoned military complexes from the former Yugoslavia. This site, once a key Cold War installation, is filled with underground bunkers, tunnels, and fortifications. Now standing as a haunting relic of the past, it offers us a fascinating glimpse into the region’s military history.

Upon arriving in Lastovo, we’ll meet Zeljko and Natasa, a couple who left city life for the island’s tranquility. They’ll share their story of settling into the peaceful rhythm of Lastovo, giving us a unique perspective on life in such a remote and beautiful part of Croatia.

Afterward, we’ll head to a stunning beach in Mihajla Bay, where Lukša will welcome us at his small, laid-back bar by the sea. It’s the perfect setting for a relaxing afternoon. Whether we’re playing volleyball, water polo, a game of briscola, or simply lounging on the beach, we’ll be surrounded by turquoise waters and the peaceful atmosphere of this special cove.

The beach itself, set near old military barracks now used for community gatherings, has a unique charm. Locals use this area to host parties and run small bars, creating a fun, relaxed vibe where we can swim, relax, and truly embrace the beauty of this secluded spot.

Lunch will be served right on the beach, keeping things casual and delicious as we enjoy the Adriatic’s flavors in a perfect setting.

In the evening, we’ll head to Podanje for dinner at a cozy, family-run restaurant. Here, we’ll indulge in the best peka we’ve ever tasted—slow-cooked under the traditional iron bell, full of rich flavors and made with fresh, local ingredients. The warm, authentic atmosphere will offer a true taste of the island’s culinary heritage.

Joining us for dinner will be Lukša Hropić, a talented and elusive winemaker known for crafting what many consider the finest Grk wine in Croatia. As a small-scale producer with no online presence, Lukša and his wines are a hidden treasure. We’ll have the rare opportunity to taste his exceptional wine, celebrated for its distinct character and unmatched quality—a true gem of Croatian winemaking.

After dinner, we’ll head to Humac, the helidrome, for a breathtaking stargazing experience. Lastovo is renowned for having some of the clearest, darkest skies in Europe, and from this special spot, we’ll witness the Milky Way in all its glory. It will be a magical and serene end to the evening, as we soak in the beauty of the night sky.

We will then return to the yacht to wind down for the evening. This evening, we will have one of our “As the Sun Sets” events on the yacht for fun, entertainment, and enjoyment, marking the close of an unforgettable day filled with local culture, adventure, and breathtaking natural beauty.

We will begin our day with a leisurely breakfast on the deck before heading into Hvar town by 9:30 AM. The morning will start with a relaxed stroll through the lively streets, allowing us to soak in the local atmosphere. We’ll make our way to the bustling open market, where we’ll pick out fresh, seasonal ingredients for lunch. Tamara, our talented yacht chef, will join us, guiding us in selecting the best local produce.

Once we’ve gathered our ingredients, we’ll return to the yacht for a cooking class led by Tamara. Together, we’ll prepare a delicious meal using our market finds, learning local culinary techniques along the way. This hands-on experience will give us a true taste of Hvar’s flavors, and we’ll enjoy our freshly cooked lunch while anchored in the beautiful waters surrounding the island. It’s a casual, authentic way to experience the region’s cuisine.

After lunch, there will be time to relax, swim in the clear Adriatic waters, or continue exploring Hvar town at your own pace. Whether it’s a dip in the sea or simply unwinding onboard, the afternoon will be laid-back and rejuvenating.

As the day moves on, we’ll head to Humac, a small, abandoned shepherd village that feels as though time has stood still. Here, we’ll meet Jakov and Mate, whose families have deep roots in this peaceful village. They’ll show us around, sharing stories of how life was lived in the old stone houses, preserving the simple, traditional ways of life.

We’ll visit their family’s house on the edge of the village, where they grow their own vegetables and produce homemade wine from their small vineyard. As the sun begins to set, we’ll enjoy cocktails and locally sourced food while taking in the stunning views over western Hvar and the island of Brač. The candlelit setting, combined with the serene beauty of Humac, will make this a truly unforgettable moment.

Just a short walk away, we’ll dine at a cozy, candlelit restaurant run by a welcoming husband and wife. With no electricity, the intimate ambiance is created by candlelight alone, adding to the rustic charm. Dinner will feature a traditional peka, slow-cooked under an iron bell using the freshest local ingredients. The combination of the simple yet magical setting and the delicious food will make this an evening to remember on Hvar.

This evening, we will have one of our “As the Sun Sets” events on the yacht for fun, entertainment, and enjoyment, closing the day with another perfect blend of culture, tradition, and great company.

Today, we’ll dock on the stunning island of Vis, one of the most unspoiled and enchanting islands in Croatia. Our first stop will be to visit Miso’s Crazy Art Konoba, an eccentric and fascinating space where art and local culture come together in the most unique way. Miso is not only an artist but a true character of Vis, and his konoba is a creative haven filled with quirky and unusual works of art, all while maintaining the charm of a traditional Croatian tavern. His lively storytelling and infectious personality will make this an unforgettable and fun experience, giving us a taste of the island’s more eclectic side.

After our time with Miso, we’ll head inland to Pohumje for a special lunch with the Sviličić family, known for their warm hospitality and authentic approach to local cuisine. We’ll be treated to Komiška pogača, a delicious local delicacy made with dough, tomatoes, and salted fish. It’s a simple yet incredibly flavorful dish that has been passed down through generations, offering a real taste of Vis’ culinary heritage. The family’s warmth and stories about life on the island will make the meal feel like being part of their family, providing a deeper connection to the island’s traditions.

In the afternoon, we’ll make our way to the charming fishing village of Komiža, known for its laid-back atmosphere and breathtaking beaches. This will be a perfect time to unwind and relax, whether it’s lounging on the beach, strolling through the picturesque streets, or simply taking in the views. The sunsets in Komiža are legendary, with the sky lighting up in brilliant colors as the day winds down. We’ll soak it all in, allowing ourselves to be fully present in the beauty and tranquility of this coastal gem.

After a day filled with art, family traditions, and relaxation, we’ll return to the yacht for dinner. This evening, we will have one of our “As the Sun Sets” events on the yacht for fun, entertainment, and enjoyment, making the perfect end to a day rich with culture, laughter, and the stunning natural beauty of Vis Island.

As our unforgettable week together comes to a close, it’s time to say goodbye—but not without taking with us the incredible memories and friendships we’ve made along the way. We hope this journey has not only filled your heart with lasting memories but also with a sense of connection that will always welcome you back to Croatia and the beautiful Dalmatian coast.

This morning, CDV will arrange smooth transfers to Split Airport.
