We talk about family quite a bit, and much of it comes from how we do our cooking classes at the villa. When our guests are at the villa, they learn one thing very quickly: This is not a service experience. You did not come to have someone serve you dinner. You came to cook and be part of a family-style experience. That means that you cook, you help serve, etc. Everyone works together just like a family gathering at home.
That also means that when you want coffee, you should feel free to simply get up and make it. But we are in Italy, and making coffee isn't a matter of filling a filter with coffee grounds and pouring in some water. We're going to do it right. Espresso and Cappuccino.
For all of our guests that wish to, the big Espresso machine is all theirs to command! We'll happily take anyone aside and teach them all about how to make the perfect espresso and cappuccino. If you are really inclined, we'll even show you how to do froth art for your cappuccino!
Aside from that, one guest is selected every week to be our designated "Barista" for the week. While we are cooking, this is the person that will handle all of the espresso and cappuccino needs for those not so inclined to have a go at it themselves. When it is all said and done, you will be a pro that can teach a thing or two to any Starbucks barista!
