Upon writing this review my fear is having the inability to find the right words to describe how wonderful this experience was. From the moment you meet them at the airport/train station, you experience organization, warmth and the calming sense that someone else is now in charge and you can just relax and enjoy the beautiful country side as you make your way to the quaint town of Soriano.
Next, you will be brought to your "home" which will be an adorable apartment within walking distance from the piazza, this home will have all the personal touches as if you were staying at a friends house....from wine, cookies and coffee to shampoo, paper towels and laundry detergent. You will also be given a weekly itinerary that will explain all the wonderful places you will visit and most importantly all the amazing food you will learn to cook.
The best part of the vacation that I haven't even mentioned yet are the incredible people that work at Culture Discovery. Michael and Paola are the owners and they couldn't be more hospitable, Carol and Bill assist with the travel and Carol will be in the kitchen with you teaching you how make homemade pasta, pizza and bolognese sauce. Michael and Paola open up there home to you.....most mornings I walked In the Villa and helped myself to an expresso....by afternoon I was in the wine racks finding a beautiful Italian wine.....did I mention as much as you could drink?
The only time i went into my wallet was for personal gifts. All your needs are met! Bring good walking shoes....some of the small villages you go to have cobble stone streets and are staggered on hillsides. The attire is very casual...I don't think once I changed my clothes from day to evening wear.....with that said I definitely over packed! My best advice to you would be to pack a small/med gym bag for your clothes when you return, because you hard luggage most likely will be filled with beautiful pottery, fabulous wine and olive oils and in my case......shoes.....lots of shoes!!!!! Enjoy!~
