I've taken three trips with Culture Discovery (two based in Soriano nel Cimino_ - the last this past June when we were based in the Umbrian town of Norcia. As soon was pulled into the front gate of this medieval town, I knew it would be a special week. I've traveled often to Italy going well beyond the usual Rome-Florence-Venice tourist destinations. This was one of those trips that my Italian friends went "WOW - Norcia!" - that just sums up the destination. Michael, Paola and their team were, as usual spot on with everything we did - from cooking classes to wineries and to check out a scenic part of the area known in English as the Great Plain. In fact, there was so much to do, I even opted out of one very unique event just to sit in the piazza and have some coffee and soak it all in. Culture Discovery trips are very unique and if you are open to an experience beyond the tour guide style trip and you are ready to put down the Rick Steve's book, then you may find yourself a fan of this company's trips.
