This is not a cooking experience…unfortunately

We were disappointed with the trip and felt they over sold it on their website.

Full Review

We were looking for a cooking school for one week.  Perhaps it was our mistake as to how we interpreted their offering.  There was a little slicing and dicing, a little prep but zero actual cooking.  This was more of a tour than a cooking experience.  Where we made our mistake was not asking for a detailed itinerary before we booked.  Had we done that, we would have had a much better picture of what to expect.  They issue some extremely long winded emails about the cultural experience to expect but seriously, none of it mattered and they could have sparred us all the details.  They tell you not to order a cappuccino after breakfast because Italians don’t drink coffee with milk after a certain time of the day….maybe so but we ordered cappuccinos and had no problems or weird looks.  They just spelt out a lot of rules like that and oversold the whole cultural immersion…There were some very long days involving visiting parts of the Chianti region.  You have to consider the chemistry with the other guests as there is a chance that it may not be a good fit.  On the positive, the accommodations in Radda were very nice.  The tour bus was nice and clean, the guide was friendly and fun.  Was the trip for us, absolutely not.  Would we go back, no.  Would we recommend it?  No. Regrettably ..
