My son and I being avid foodies dreamed of a culinary themed vacation in Italy. We found Culture Discovery Vacations on line, and after much research decided to commit. We weren't sure what to expect, never having been to Italy and communicating only through the internet. We were blown away! Every detail regarding accommodations, itinerary, menus and touring where thoughtfully communicated. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived at the Orte train station, it set the tone for the rest of the week. The week was a wonderful mix of cooking and touring. Rocky and Linda were fantastic tour guides and so much fun and knowledgeable that it was one of the major highlights of the trip. And the food.....oh my! With the skilled guidance of Carla and her helpers it was fantastic. One of the really great things about the classes is that they weren't just demonstrations but real hands on shopping, prepping and cooking. Of course, we got to eat the result of our labors, which was over the top (in a good way). This was probably one of the most memorable vacations ever. We hope to be able to get back to Italy and go to one of the other locations that CDV offers soon!
