If your impression of Sicily is all about gangsters and "swimming with the fishes", you need to check out CDV's Sicily adventure. Not for the faint of heart, this tour truly is an adventure. From our home base on the island of Favignana, we went fishing with the locals, sold our fish in the market (much to the Italians' amusement), harvested fleur de sel at the Trapani salt flats, sang and danced in the village square ... you get the idea.
Sicily is rugged and beautiful, surrounded by crystal clear water, even in the harbour. We swam almost every day and traveled by boat to nearby islands or by ferry to Palermo.
After the quiet, rustic scenery of Favignana, Palermo was a shock; traffic, noise, bustling markets and glorious churches. Our B&B was in the heart of the "action", providing access to shopping and a totally different environment.
Michael packs so much into each of his tours, we have to keep coming back to experience a new adventure. Will we see you next in Barolo or Chianti? Stay tuned :-
