We booked a hotel for a few days in Soriano recently as part of a 2 week Italy stay. We were wondering what we could do while there. After doing some online searches we found Culture Discovery and their day trips. The write ups and reviews seemed really good so we started emailing Rocky to see if we could set up some tours even though Culture Discovery had not started their season.
Rocky came through. He set us up with Ian, an Aussie living in Soriano, who works with Culture Discovery. We went on the Tuscan wine and Gregorian chant day including a stop in Pienza and a custom 1/2 day tour to Civita and Orvieto. What a great time. We saw things the average tourist will not see and Ian was a great guide. He was informative, funny and very personable. Our tours were done in the same manner as the week long cooking vacations. They cover everything, from the great lunch with Orvieto Classico in Orvieto to the morning break cappuccino. The tours with Ian as host were the highlight of our entire trip.
We would love to come back for one of the week long cooking vacations
