After checking in at the elegant Intelier Palácio San Martín, we’ll enjoy a refreshing welcome drink. This is your time to relax, unwind, or simply soak in the vibrant energy of Madrid right outside the door.

Next, we’ll get together for our first gathering. Over delicious aperitifs, we’ll get to know each other, and enjoy an inspiring introduction to Madrid. The view alone will leave you enchanted!

To end this perfect first day, we’ll head to one of Madrid’s most traditional and beloved tapas restaurants. Handpicked by our dear friend Mireia, this charming spot is where locals take their closest friends. Surrounded by a lively atmosphere, we’ll indulge in classic Spanish dishes like patatas bravas and jamón ibérico, sharing stories and laughter as we begin to feel like family.

Today, we step out of the city and into a day filled with unforgettable moments. Make sure to bring your essentials—sunscreen, a hat, and even a bathing suit! We’ll be spending the day at Mireia’s idyllic country house, where food, fun, and culture await.

After a leisurely open-seating breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head to Mireia’s home—a place that feels like it came straight out of a storybook. Sixty years ago, Mireia’s father and a group of friends created this unique retreat, where children could play freely and families could gather in harmony. This legacy of warmth and connection makes it the perfect setting for our cooking experience.

Upon arrival, Mireia will welcome us with her signature hospitality, inviting us to roll up our sleeves and dive into the rich flavors of Spanish cuisine. Together, we’ll prepare a mouthwatering menu that includes classic dishes like tortilla de patata, hearty paella, refreshing sangria, pan con tomate, and a delightful homemade turrón. There’s no rush here—just the joy of cooking, sipping wine, and soaking in the peaceful surroundings. If you feel like a swim or a quick game of tennis, the day is yours to enjoy!

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Before we leave Mireia’s, we’ll immerse ourselves in the vibrant art of Sevillanas dancing. Guided by passionate instructors, we’ll learn not just the steps, but the heartbeat of one of Europe’s oldest dances. With guitar strumming and rhythmic clapping setting the mood, we’ll laugh, move, and embrace the spirit of Spanish festivals. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or have two left feet, it’s all about the joy of the experience. In the evening, after some free time back in Madrid to relax or explore, we’ll gather again for dinner at La Descubierta, a charming taperia just a short walk from our hotel. With its rustic décor and a creative twist on traditional dishes, it’s the perfect setting for more stories, laughter, and perhaps a toast to the wonderful day we’ve shared.

This morning, we set out for the magical city of Toledo, often described as one of the most beautiful cities in Spain. As we approach, we’ll pause at a scenic viewpoint where the city’s medieval skyline seems to float above the winding Tagus River—a truly breathtaking sight that invites us to step back in time.

Our first stop in Toledo takes us into the heart of Spanish tradition—a cozy mazapán workshop. The sweet aroma of almonds and sugar fills the air as Chon, the workshop’s cheerful and passionate owner, welcomes us with a warm smile. Her modest yet vibrant space is filled with shelves of beautifully crafted mazapán, traditional sweets made from almonds and sugar, each piece telling a story of resilience and creativity.

Chon shares her inspiring journey, describing how she turned her love of baking into a thriving business during challenging times. With her guidance, we’ll roll up our sleeves and craft our own mazapán creations, laughing and learning as she shares tips and techniques. It’s a joyful, hands-on experience that leaves us with delicious treats and a deep connection to Toledo’s traditions.

Following our workshop, you’ll have the chance to explore Toledo further. Whether you choose to join a guided tour led by one of our knowledgeable friends or wander the cobblestone streets at your own pace, the city’s charm will captivate you. From its majestic cathedral to its historic plazas, Toledo is a feast for the senses.

For lunch, we’ll gather at La Cábala, an elegant yet welcoming restaurant tucked inside a historic building. While it might seem fancy at first, the warmth of the staff and the atmosphere quickly make it feel like home—a very stylish home! Here, we’ll enjoy a menu that blends traditional Castilian flavors with a modern twist, making this a truly memorable dining experience.

After lunch, we continue our discovery of Toledo, exploring more of its hidden gems and timeless beauty. Every corner of this city seems to hold a story, and whether you’re learning from our guide or simply soaking in the atmosphere, the experience is nothing short of magical.

As the afternoon winds down, we return to Madrid for some free time to rest or perhaps explore the city on your own. In the evening, we’ll come together for dinner at Charnela, a charming family-run restaurant with hearty, home-style dishes, Charnela feels more like a warm family gathering than a restaurant. Surrounded by laughter and conversation, it’s the perfect way to end our day.

We’ll travel to the Royal Glass Factory of La Granja, a historic treasure nestled in the picturesque Segovia region. Founded in the 18th century to supply fine glassware to the Spanish royal family, La Granja is now a fascinating blend of museum and working glass factory where centuries-old traditions are alive and thriving.

During our visit, we’ll step into a hands-on workshop where master glassblowers share their craft with warmth and enthusiasm. Under their guidance, you’ll shape and create your very own piece of glass—a keepsake imbued with the history and artistry of this incredible place. The experience is more than just crafting; it’s about connecting with the artisans who pour their passion into every piece. By the end, you’ll leave not only with a unique creation but also with a sense of wonder and accomplishment.

From the workshop, we’ll make our way to El Rincón de la Abuela, a cozy and inviting restaurant known for its warm hospitality and delicious home-style cooking. Nestled in Collado Mediano, this family-friendly spot feels like a home away from home, with hearty dishes like stuffed peppers and fresh seafood. If the weather allows, we’ll enjoy our meal on the outdoor terrace, soaking in the fresh air and the easygoing atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you can linger over a meal, sharing stories and laughter with your travel family.

In the late afternoon, we’ll return to Madrid for an evening stroll through the city center, beginning at the serene Templo de Debod. As the sun begins to set, we’ll take in beautiful views of the Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral before making our way toward the heart of the city. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a truly Spanish tradition—standing at local bars, sipping vermouth, and savoring tapas in a lively, relaxed atmosphere. Each stop is a chance to soak in the energy of Madrid, sharing small plates and big smiles as we experience the city like locals.

Today, Mireia will share a brand-new set of recipes with us, and we may even have the pleasure of meeting her mother—a woman whose love for cooking and tradition adds even more warmth to our experience.

Together, we’ll prepare a seasonal menu featuring refreshing gazpacho, savory croquetas de jamón, a hearty guiso de costillas con patatas (pork ribs and potato stew), and a sweet tarta de queso for dessert. Of course, no Spanish meal would be complete without a glass (or two) of sangria. Between cooking, chatting, and laughter, the hours will fly by. This is more than just a meal—it’s a celebration of food, family, and fun.

After enjoying the fruits of our labor, we’ll head off to our next experience: a deep dive into one of Spain’s most iconic and complex traditions—its connection to bulls. At a rural finca (farm), we’ll gain a firsthand understanding of this cultural heritage. While opinions on bullfighting may differ, it’s undeniable that bulls hold a significant place in Spain’s history and traditions.

On a thrilling 4x4 tour, we’ll get “face-to-face” with these magnificent animals, seeing how freely they roam in their natural habitat. This isn’t just about observation—it’s about learning from locals who have dedicated their lives to this way of life. Their stories and perspectives offer an authentic window into a tradition that blends nature, art, and history.

At the same finca, we’ll also encounter the renowned Iberian pigs raised on the estate. For dinner, we’ll enjoy a feast of Iberian cured ham, chorizo, and a variety of locally sourced meats, all prepared with care and pride. This meal is as much about savoring the flavors of Spain as it is about connecting with the people who preserve these culinary and cultural traditions.

As the evening winds down, we’ll make our way back to the hotel, carrying with us the memories of a day steeped in the flavors, traditions, and spirit of Spain.

Today, we set out for a day filled with discovery, flavors, and a grand celebration. After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head to the enchanting village of Chinchón, a place where history and tradition come alive in every corner.

Our walk through Chinchón’s cobblestone streets will lead us to its stunning 16th-century Plaza Mayor. This picturesque square, with its unique medieval charm, is a perfect spot for soaking in the old-world atmosphere and capturing a few keepsake photos. As we explore further, we’ll visit a local monastery to pick up monjas sweets, lovingly made by the nuns—a true taste of tradition. And, of course, no visit to Chinchón would be complete without sampling its namesake liqueur, a delightful and fun tasting experience that embodies the spirit of this quaint village.

Next, we’ll head to the Madrid wine region to visit a historic winery that has been in the hands of the same family for over a century. Here, the third generation of winemakers will share their story, passion, and the art of winemaking. Over a delicious, family-style lunch with our hosts, we’ll savor local flavors and learn more about the rich heritage of Madrid’s wines. This intimate experience blends history, hospitality, and a true sense of place.

As the afternoon transitions into evening, we’ll make our way to the countryside for a lively celebration at Marta’s farm. This beautiful property, surrounded by horses, lush vegetable gardens, and olive groves, is the perfect setting for a night of joy and connection. Marta, a close friend of Mireia’s, will welcome us into her outdoor kitchen, where she’ll prepare a special dinner featuring fresh, local ingredients. We’ll also visit her olive plantation and enjoy an olive oil tasting, discovering the artistry behind one of Spain’s most treasured products.

The evening will be a true celebration of the connections we’ve made and the vibrant traditions of Spain. With live Flamenco dancers adding rhythm and passion to the night, we’ll dance, laugh, and toast to the unforgettable moments we’ve shared. Next, we’ll make our way to the bustling market to pick up some local sweets before heading to the serene Retiro Park. Known as El Parque del Buen Retiro, this lush green oasis in the heart of Madrid was once a royal retreat and is now a cherished space where locals relax and enjoy nature. We’ll take some time to soak in the tranquility, stroll through its beautiful gardens, and enjoy a picnic-like moment as we embrace the park’s timeless charm.

The day continues with a very special visit to Mireia’s mother’s home—a chance to meet a truly elegant Madrileña. At 80 years old, she embodies grace, beauty, and vitality, often found at the gym or spa! As we sip a glass of wine, we’ll take in the warmth of her home, adorned with family photos that tell the story of generations. It’s a simple yet touching moment that captures the essence of family and tradition.

In the evening, we’ll gather one last time for a lively barbeque dinner at Mireia’s. This isn’t just a meal—it’s a true Spanish celebration! With music, dancing, laughter, and perhaps a few toasts, we’ll revel in the joy of the week we’ve shared.
